User permission for applying Discounts Below Cost Price in Hike

User permission for applying Discounts Below Cost Price in Hike

To prevent accidental profit loss, Hike POS allows you to restrict agents from discounting products below their cost price without manager/Admin approval. This article explains how to configure permissions for this feature.

Key Permissions for this feature

Two interdependent permissions control this workflow:

1. Discount a product price to lower than its cost price

Purpose: Allows applying discounts that reduce the selling price below the item’s cost.

2. Require manager permission to discount a product price lower than cost

Purpose: Forces agents to request manager/Admin approval when attempting such discounts.

Step-by-Step Setup

Navigate to User Permissions

Go to Users > Users >> Select the User name and click on Edit >> Permission

Configure Permissions and how it works:

1. If the permission is not provided as per the selection below, the user will not be able to apply a discount below the product's cost price.

2. With the below permission provided, the User can apply a discount that is lower than the cost price of the product. No permission required.

3. With the below permission, the agent can provide the discount below the cost price, but the manager or Admin will need to approve the discount.

On sale, the user will see a pop-up when applying the discount below the cost price. The manager or Admin must enter their PIN here to approve this sale.

Once the admin or manager enters their PIN, the sale can be completed.

This permission allows the owners to control the discounts applied on the Point of Sales page as per their requirement.
