This article explains how to create a coupon-based discount
for your Hike Ecommerce store using the Hike POS back office.
All required settings—enabling ecommerce, selecting the
discount type, choosing the offer, and adding a coupon code—are available on
the same Add Offer page in POS.
You can follow the steps below to locate and activate the offer:
1. Products > Discount offers > Add discount offer
2. Tick ‘Enable for Hike Ecommerce’
3. Select Discount Type and Offer
- In the Discount type section:
- Select Product, Order value or
Shipping discount as the discount type
- Configure the required values based
on the selected offer.
- Note: Discount options that are not recommended for e-commerce may appear disabled when ecommerce is enabled.
4. Add a Coupon Code
- In the Availability section:
- Select 'By entering this coupon
code'
- Enter the coupon code you want
customers to use (for example: COUPON100)
- Click the ✓
icon to confirm the coupon code
5. Click Save to activate the discount
The coupon-based discount will sync automatically with your
Hike Ecommerce store.
How the Coupon Works on Ecommerce
1. On the e-commerce store, Customers add eligible products to the cart.
2. At checkout, they see a Coupon code option on payments page.
3. Customers enter the coupon code created in POS.
4. If the conditions are met, the discount is
applied instantly.
5. If the coupon is invalid or conditions are not
satisfied, it would show a notification on the top right as 'The coupon is not valid'. Please note that Coupon codes are case-sensitive.
