FAQ on Integration with Shopify - Sales

Hike allows you to set up the integration with Shopify. Regarding how to set it up, please refer to How to integrate Shopify with Hike. In this article, we are trying to answer some of the questions frequently asked about the sales syncing with Shopify.

Will the sales orders sync in both ways?

The sales orders placed in Hike will NOT sync to Shopify, but the stock levels of the products in the orders will be updated in both Hike and Shopify. The orders placed in Shopify will sync to Hike and it will also update stock levels in Hike.

How the shipping charge will display in Hike?

If the shipping charge is added for sale in Shopify, it will be added as an extra line in Hike invoice like in the below. The shipping tax based on the general tax setting, Hike will take only the total of the shipping

Will the fulfilment and payment status sync to Hike?

Yes. Please refer to the table below for the corresponding status.

Will the payment type sync?

Shopify → Hike: The payment type that you choose in Shopify will not sync to Hike, while all the payments received in Shopify will be labelled as Shopify in Hike, as shown in the image below.

Hike → Shopify: The payment type that you choose in Hike will not sync to Shopify, while all the payments received in Hike will be labelled as “Paid by customer” in Shopify.

Will the historical sales orders sync?

Historical sales from Shopify to Hike will NOT sync automatically, but you may manually sync them. You can perform manual syncing by following the instruction here.

Please note: This action will deduct the stock levels of the products in Hike. 

Why does my order from Shopify show the customer as “Cash Sale”?

The order placed in Shopify without a customer attached to it will be recorded as an order under the customer name “Cash Sale”.

How the Shopify payment method will display in Hike once synced?

No matter what sort of payment you applied for a sale in Shopify, it will show the payment name as “Shopify” once synced to Hike

How does customers get sync between Hike-Shopify?

Customer sync is by default, which means any customer created in Shopify will get automatically synced to Hike and vice versa. Below is the field mapping for customer sync between Hike and Shopify.

What determines product price sync?

Product price sync is determined by the price type mapping done in the integration sync setting. Currently from Shopify either “Price” or “Compare” price of the product can be synced to Hike and that will depend on the price type mapped in the sync setting page.



Before syncing pricing make sure to select below highlighted option from Hike’s “General Rule” page as it determines whether the Shopify product’s price will get sync inclusive or exclusive of tax in Hike.




Shopify order synced to Hike will display under which user?

Shopify order synced to Hike will be by default displaying under the super admin of the Hike store, irrespective of the user logged in at that time in Hike.

If I have a sale in Hike including products having eCommerce sales channel active as well as inactive, will it update my stock in Shopify or not?

Yes, it will update the stock for your product in Shopify if you have ticked the option “Update inventory in Shopify when a sale, purchase order or inventory take is created in Hike.

Stock manually updated in Shopify will sync to Hike?


If order sync is enabled from Shopify to Hike then in that case any manual stock update done in Shopify won’t sync to Hike. However still in that case any manual stock done in Hike will get synced to Shopify if product sync is enabled from Hike to Shopify in the integration setting.


Tax mapping can be done Shopify location wise? If not then what tax get calculated for the order synced from different locations?

Currently any one Hike tax can be mapped in the sync setting page, which means any Shopify product will get synced to Hike with tax that is being mapped in the integration setting.

But the tax for the order processed in different locations will get calculated correctly when synced to Hike, and that will be based on the tax rule of the Shopify location.
