FAQ on Integration with BigCommerce - General

Hike allows you to set up the integration with BigCommerce. Regarding how to set it up, please refer to How to Integrate BigCommerce with Hike. In this article, we will answer some of the questions frequently asked about the integration with BigCommerce.

Are there any prerequisites for this integration to work?

Recommendations: We highly recommend that you do a backup of the up-to-date data in your Hike Store and in BigCommerce before you start the integration.
  1. You can back up product information in your Hike store by following the instructions here.
  2. You can back up your BigCommerce store by following the instructions here.
Pre-requisite: You are required to keep consistent tax rules between Hike and BigCommerce. First, you need to have tax rates set correctly in Hike and BigCommerce so that they match, as shown in the images below (Note that tax names and rates may vary depending on your country and state/region).

Does the integration support the 3rd-party plugins in BigCommerce?

No. Due to API limitations, the Hike and BigCommerce integration will only sync native information generated in Hike and BigCommerce. Any additional features, data, or information made available through a 3rd-party plugin in BigCommerce will not be synced to or from Hike. In other words, when you add a plugin in BigCommerce, it may provide additional functionality to your BigCommerce store; however, the additional features and data fields available in your BigCommerce store will NOT sync from BigCommerce to Hike.

Does the integration support managing multiple Hike outlets with multiple BigCommerce stores?

The Hike Integration supports integrating multiple Hike outlets with multiple BigCommerce stores. It is possible via Hike's Multi-store subscription plan. You can integrate each of your BigCommerce stores with a non-integrated outlet in Hike. Navigate to Store Setup> Integrations and click on “Integrate another outlet” under the BigCommerce Integration settings, as shown in the image below. The procedure for subsequent Hike BigCommerce integrations is exactly the same as your first integration setup between Hike and BigCommerce.

What is the process to start a Manual sync/Force sync between Hike and BigCommerce?

The Manual sync feature in Hike is useful if you ever wish to manually force the data between Hike and BigCommerce to sync. This may be required if there was a sync error that you corrected and required to sync again. Please check the Hike Help Article below on how to perform a Manual sync.

Why should I get a separate Hike register for BigCommerce sales sync?

As mentioned in the initial setup of the Hike BigCommerce Integration, we recommend setting up a separate Hike Register for the outlet you want to link to BigCommerce. This is because any sales received in BigCommerce that are synced to Hike after you close your register for the day will automatically re-open the linked Hike register if it is closed. Setting up a separate register helps to ensure all your reporting is clear.
