FAQ on Integration with BigCommerce - Customers

Hike allows you to set up the integration with BigCommerce. Regarding how to set it up, please refer to How to integrate BigCommerce with Hike. In this article, we will answer some of the questions frequently asked about syncing customer data between Hike and BigCommerce.

Will the customer data sync?

Yes, customer data sync is available both ways between Hike and BigCommerce.

Why isn't the Hike customer data syncing to BigCommerce?

The most common sync error is that BigCommerce has a requirement that every customer data entry has an email address assigned to it.  Please make sure you have filled in the email field of the customer in your Hike Store, as customers without an email address will not sync to BigCommerce otherwise.

Also, if you make other customer fields mandatory in BigCommerce, any customers with those fields blank in Hike will not sync successfully to BigCommerce. The image below offers an example of where you can modify whether a field is mandatory for a customer or not.

Will store credit of the customer sync from Hike to BigCommerce?  

Yes. Store credit will sync between Hike and BigCommerce. Also, if you refund a sale by store credit in Hike, the store credit for the customer will be updated in BigCommerce.

If we select the opt-in marketing option for customers in Hike, will it sync to BigCommerce?

No, this will not sync to BigCommerce. BigCommerce's sync API does not allow this field's data to be sent.

Is it possible to earn Loyalty points for customers on sales processed on BigCommerce?

Yes, if a BigCommerce sale syncs to Hike, Hike can allocate the loyalty points for this sale to customers within your Hike Store. You need to select the following option on the Loyalty point page in your Hike store, as shown in the image below.



Will discount offers and Gift cards created in Hike sync to BigCommerce?

No, discount offers data and Gift card data do not sync between Hike and BigCommerce.
