Setting up Expiry date for Gift cards in Hike

You can pre-set the expiry date for any new gift cards that you create in Hike. For instance, if you want every gift cards to get expired after 30 days of creating them then you can set this in Hike.

To set the expiry date, navigate to Products > Gift cards > Gift cards expiry settings.

Once you set the expiry date, save the settings and it will apply to all the gift cards that you create in Hike by default.

Alternatively, you can set custom expiry date of each gift cards by importing them through Excel file. In gift card import file, you will find a “Expiry date” column. You can add custom expiry date in that column and import that file.

Once the gift card is created with an expiry date, customers must redeem the gift card balance before that date arrives. If the card expires, they will no longer be able to access the balance and will encounter an error message upon entering the gift card number on the payment screen during the redemption process.



How to customize the expiry date for Gift cards:

Once you configure the expiry date under “Gift Card Expiry Settings”, the system will automatically apply this default expiry date to all newly created gift cards.

However, you can still customize the expiry date for individual gift cards by editing them directly. Please refer to the screenshots below for guidance.
