How to Set Up and Manage Age Verification for Restricted Products in Hike


Some products require customers to provide age verification before purchase due to legal or business policies. This guide explains how to enable the age verification feature, manage bulk uploads, review uploaded documents, and handle the process during a sale.

Steps to Enable Age Verification for Individual Products:

  1. Navigate to the Product Page of the item requiring age verification.
  2. Tick the checkbox labeled:
    '
    Age or ID verification is required when selling'
    This ensures customers must verify their age by submitting a document before proceeding with the purchase.

 

Bulk Product Uploads:

  • If you're uploading products in bulk using an Excel file, enter the value True in the column titled:

    'Age verification needed for buy this product'

  • This will automatically apply the age verification requirement to the relevant products during the upload process.

 

Processing a Sale with Age Verification:

  1. Add the restricted product to the customer's cart.
  2. When prompted, ask the customer to submit the required age verification document.
  3. The POS system will display an Upload eligibility proof option for the customer to provide the necessary document (e.g., an ID card or other age-proof). Next, click on Yes button.
  4. Once the document is uploaded, manually verify the details.
  5. Upon successful verification, proceed to finalize the sale by completing the billing and payment process.


 

Checking Uploaded Documents:

  • Navigate to the Sales History section of the POS system to review any uploaded age verification documents.
  • This section provides easy access to all submitted images for verification, along with corresponding sales details.
