If you want to know how to connect BigCommerce to Hike, you’re in the right place.
In this article, we will go over the steps to integrate your BigCommerce website with your Hike account.
INTEGRATIONS
This section will be relevant if you ever have to edit your account settings between Hike and BigCommerce.
Having already activated your BigCommerce account, you will find the MANAGE button to the right.
Click on the MANAGE button to check sync settings.
SYNC SETTINGS
This section exists to match all the settings in Hike to all the settings in BigCommerce. If this is not done correctly, your activity may not properly be recorded when synced between Hike or BigCommerce.
Let's go through the sections, explaining the relevant fields, starting at the top of the page:
BIGCOMMERCE SETTINGS
-
Hike outlet for inventory sync
Hike syncs all sales from one outlet only to BigCommerce; choose your outlet to sync
-
Select Hike register for a payment tick box
If you make a sale in BigCommerce and wish to sync the sales data (not just the inventory data), ticking this box will display the sale in Hike, and show it on your shift report.
-
Hike register for payment
If the box is ticked to reflect sales made in BigCommerce, you will have a drop-down list of all registers in your chosen outlet. By choosing a register, will show all sales in BigCommerce on that register, reflected in the daily shift report for that register.
BIGCOMMERCE PRICE TYPES
BigCommerce allows you to edit the pricing of products, typically by clicking more pricing, next to price in product settings. Choose which price reference you wish to sync between Hike and BigCommerce:
-
Retail price
This is the price you create/edit against the product in BigCommerce, however
- Hike will update the price overall, or this Retail Price field if being used.
- Any discounts in BigCommmerce will reduce the final sale price in BigCommerce
-
Sale price
This is the price you create/edit against the product in BigCommerce, however
- Hike will update the price overall, or this Sale Price field if being used.
- Any discounts in BigCommmerce may not apply as this is the final sale price in BigCommerce. Check your settings and consult with BigCommerce for further clarification
HIKE DEFAULT PRODUCT TYPE
Choose a Product type from the drop down menu. When Hike syncs products from BigCommerce, and cannot match a BigCommerce Category to a Hike Product type, will assign this choice as the default option.
Note, if you have just created your Hike account, you will need to create a Product type in Hike to be able to sync Hike and BigCommerce. Otherwise, you will get an error message.
TAX MAPPING
-
Hike tax
Lists the taxes you have created in Hike, which then need to correspond to taxes in BigCommerce when they sync
-
BigCommerce tax
Choose the corresponding BigCommerce account from the drop down list, choosing from typically three options:
-
Non-Taxable Products
Where no tax applies
-
Shipping
Where you customize BigCommerce settings to charge tax based on store location or customer location
-
Gift Wrapping
Where you customize BigCommerce settings to charge tax based on store location or customer location (may be a different rate to shipping)

PRODUCT SYNC PREFERENCE
Hike uses 'SKU' as a unique identifier for products. This is standard practice for most of our accounting and eCommerce partners. However, if the application you are trying to sync does not require the SKU numbers, you might have some products without SKUs.
In that case, to sync/import your non-SKU products, Hike can auto-create SKU numbers. Please select the best suitable option:
-
Auto-create SKU numbers to sync those products and variants
Tick this box to automatically add SKUs to products being added that do not have an SKU
-
Tick this box to not add products that do not have an SKU
SAVE
If the SAVE button is lightly grayed out, it means there is a section you have not completed.
Otherwise, click the SAVE button to finish.
FIRST TIME SYNC
If you have made significant changes in your Settings, you may be prompted to complete the first time sync. Only if this occurred you will get the following screen appearing. Afterward, the data will just save, but for now, there is one final step.
If you chose two-way sync, you will need to confirm what will happen the first time you sync. If the same data is in Hike and BigCommerce, you need to advise which is the primary data to overwrite the other.
