How to Integrate Hike with Tyro Tap to Pay

How to Integrate Hike with Tyro Tap to Pay

Integrating Tyro’s Tap to Pay payment option with your Hike POS system allows you to accept contactless payments seamlessly. Currently, Tyro tap to pay works on iPhone, Android tablets, and Android phones. It will not work on iPad for now.

The integration is available in Australia.

Prerequisites:
1. Tyro Merchant Account: Ensure you have an active Tyro account.
2. Stable Internet Connection.
3. Compatibility Check: Tyro tap and pay will work on the same device where Hike POS is installed. Currently, it will work on iPhone, Android tablets and Android phones. Also, it will work on a single device where the integration is set up. It will not work on any other device.

Tyro Tap to Pay payments on iPhone require:
iPhone XS or above
iOS 17.0 or later

Tyro Tap to Pay payments on Android require an Android device with:
NFC capability
Android 11.0 or above

Follow this step-by-step guide to set up the integration.

Configure Hike POS for Tyro Tap to Pay Integration:

You will need to create a new payment type in Hike (PC or Mac) to start this integration. Once the payment type is added and configured in web, you can activate it on your other devices such as Android tablet or iPhone.

To create a new payment type on web, please navigate to Store set-up >> Payment Types >> Add payment type:

A new window will slide out which will have option to select Tyro Tap To Pay out of available payment types in Australia.

You can assign a Payment name to this payment type as per your choice.

Please select relevant options on this page: surcharge, registers etc. based on your requirements.

When you update and save the payment type, it will be available in the payment type list.

Now, click on the Configuration required option to proceed.

A new window will slide out. Please click on AUTHORISE FOR EMBEDDED PAYMENTS here.

A new window will open, taking you to the TYRO login page.

Please enter the credentials provided by Tyro to log into your account.

Once you log in, you can select the Merchant ID and Location for this payment type. Please note that you can only select one Merchant ID with Hike for payment.

Once selected, please click on the CREATE READER option, and you are ready to go.

The Tyro tap to Pay has now been configured with Hike.

Once you have this option created in the web, you will need to activate this option on the device. To do this, simply process a Data sync on the device you are using to take the payment, and you are ready to go.
