How to integrate Castles Lloyds Cardnet payment type with Hike

Hike provide an integration into Lloyds Bank Cardnet; a Payment Service Provider (PSP) operating in the UK. This guide will provide insight into connecting to the Castles Saturn 1000 range of devices



The Castles connection via Lloyds Bank Cardnet can be used on PC and iPad devices with Hike, but is not currently available on Mac.

Configure Lloyds Bank Cardnet – Castles with PC (web):

Please follow the step-by-step instructions below.

Important: You will need to download a bridge software on your PC to connect the Hike and Lloyds Bank Cardnet – Castles device. Here is the link to download the software.

Log in your Hike account,  go to Store Setup >> Payment Types >> Add Payment Type.



A new window will display, allowing you to add a new payment type.

Select  ‘Lloyds Bank Cardnet – Castles’ as your payment type and then click “Save". You can choose to apply the payment to all registers or a specific one. We also recommend that you name them differently if you use multiple Lloyds Bank Cardnet Castles terminals in your store.





Once the payment type has been created, you will see the configuration window open within the Payment Types list.




From here, please click on "Configuration required" for the Lloyds Bank Cardnet - Castles payment type, where a new window will open.

Enter the IP address and port of the payment device you are using.

Server IP and Port details should be available with the device.



This information is available from the Castles option on the device. Click on Castles, then press on the ’back’ arrow from the homepage and select Menu.



Select ‘CMD Service’ to open the command services, and in turn, your port and IP address data to configure.






Once you enter these details into Hike, please check the details entered and click on 'Configure' to submit. Once the configuration is successful, you will see the Lloyds Bank Cardnet – Castles payment type available in the Payment Type.





How to complete a sale using Lloyds Bank Cardnet – Castles Payment type.

As the Lloyds Bank Cardnet – Castles payment type is configured and ready to use, you’re ready to learn how to use this device to take payment using Hike. The option to pay using the Castles device will be available on the payment page where cash, card, and other payment types should show. Let's check an example:



When you selectLloyds Bank Cardnet – Castles option, you will be able to see the payment amount directly on the payment device.



The cardholder can then tap, insert or swipe their card on the device to allow the payment request to be attempted and the result shown.



A customer receipt will be printed by the device to show the outcome of the payment request. The sale will be recorded within Hike automatically. A merchant copy will be printed with the Hike sales receipt at the end of the transaction process.

Configure Lloyds Bank Cardnet – Castles with Hike’s iPad application

When you complete your Lloyds Bank Cardnet – Castles set-up on your PC, you will need to process a data sync on your iPad to see the Lloyds Bank Cardnet – Castles payment option on your iPad.

On the iPad application, you will find the option to synchronize your data within Settings >> General.

Click on the DATA SYNC button to refresh the data on your iPad.

Once done, the Lloyds Bank Cardnet – Castles option will be available on your iPad payment type list as ‘Ready to use’.



You can use the toggle button to activate or deactivate the Lloyds Bank Cardnet - Castles payment type on iPad as needed.


The payment type will be available on iPad when completing a transaction request.
