Hike POS supported receipt printing sizes.

Hike POS supported receipt printing sizes.

Overview

Hike POS supports thermal receipt printing on the two most common paper roll sizes used by retail and hospitality businesses. These sizes cover the vast majority of thermal receipt printers available in the market today. Hike also supports full A4 receipt printing via standard A4 printers for businesses that prefer a larger format.

80 mm
80 mm Thermal Roll — Primary Supported Size
The most common thermal paper size worldwide. Recommended for all Hike POS setups. Provides wider receipts with more room for itemised sales, logos, and footer messages.

57 mm
57 mm Thermal Roll — Also Supported
A narrower thermal roll, common in older or compact printers. Hike can accommodate 57 mm — receipts will be formatted to fit the narrower width. Logos and wide content may be resized or cropped.

A4
A4 Paper — Supported via Standard Printers
Full A4 receipt printing for businesses using standard desktop or network printers. Ideal for detailed invoices, multi-item orders, or when a thermal printer is not available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use any thermal printer with Hike?

Hike works with most ESC/POS compatible thermal printers. However, for the best experience and verified compatibility, we recommend Hike all-in-one device package which includes the printer, Star Micronics and Epson printers. Contact the support team for guidance on a specific model you have or are considering.

My printer is 58 mm — will it work?

58 mm is functionally equivalent to 57 mm. Hike's 57 mm setting will work correctly with 58 mm paper rolls. This size difference is a manufacturer's labelling convention and does not affect printing.

Can I print receipts without a receipt printer?

Yes. Hike can email receipts to customers directly from the POS. You can also print to a standard A4 printer if you do not have a thermal receipt printer. Both options are configured in Store Setup > Receipt Templates.

Is a cash drawer supported alongside the receipt printer?

Yes. A cash drawer can be connected to a compatible receipt printer and will open automatically when a cash sale is completed in Hike.

Where can I buy recommended printers?

Star Micronics and Epson receipt printers are available from major office and technology retailers, as well as online. Contact the Hike support team for purchasing guidance and to confirm the specific model recommended for your setup.
