How to configure Hike with Tyro - Australia
You can use the supported Tyro terminal, Yomani XR, with your PC, Mac, iPad or Android tablet. It's supported in Australia only.
Please follow the step-by-step instructions below.
- Log in your Hike account > go to Store set up >Payment types > add a new payment type > select Tyro as payment type > click “Save". You can choose to apply the payment to all registers or a specific one. We also recommend you to name them differently if you use multiple Tyro terminals in your store.
- Once above payment type is created, you will see the configuration window open. If you can't see it, simply click on "Configuration required" to open the window.
- You should have got the merchant ID and terminal ID from the Tyro team. If you can't find them, don't worry. You can find the information on the terminal screen by following the steps below.
- The checkboxes are about whether to print the payment copies from your receipt printer or the EFTPOS machine. By default, both checkboxes are ticked, and customer + merchant copies will be printed from your receipt printer. If you want the Tyro terminal to print the payment copies, please untick them.
- Now, it comes to the operation on the terminal. Please click on Menu > 5. Configuration > Enter the admin password you got from Tyro > 1. Integrated EFTPOS > 1. Select Integration Mode > 2. Integrated > OK (on the pinpad) > 2. Pair with POS.
You will get the merchant ID and terminal ID here on the terminal screen. If you haven't entered them into Hike, please do it now. - Click on the PAIR button in Hike first. Wait for 2 seconds, and click on START on the Tyro terminal. You should then see the terminal configured in Hike, and the window is automatically closed. If not, please click on RETRY on the Tyro terminal.
- Click on DONE on the Tyro terminal, and STOP on the Tyro pinpad till you go back to the main screen of the Tyro terminal. It's then all done.
- Please find a computer, or use the Admin section in the Hike iPad/Android app to finish this step. Go to Store set up >Payment types > add a new payment type > select Tyro as payment type > click “Save". You can choose to apply the payment to all registers or a specific one. We also recommend you to name them differently if you use multiple Tyro terminals in your store.
Repeat this step to create a payment type for each terminal, if you have multiple terminals in your store.
Please note, don't put any merchant ID or terminal ID on the configuration page here. You can close the configuration window. - Now, we need to come back to set it up in the iPad/Android app. Please note, the following steps cannot be performed in the Admin section on your tablet or in Hike on a computer. Go to Settings > General settings, and click on "data sync".
- When data sync is completed, you will be able to see the payment types you created in Settings > Payment types. Click on "Configuration required", and a window will slide out in the app. Please click on "I know what I'm doing" at the bottom.
- On the next page, you will need to enter merchant ID and terminal ID. You should have got the merchant ID and terminal ID from the Tyro team. Enter them here. If you can't find them, don't worry. You can find the information on the terminal screen by following the steps below.
