AI workflow: Post your products automatically to your Social media platform

How to Set Up Automated Social Media Posting

Automatically post your products to Facebook and Instagram with AI-powered content and seamless Hike integration. This guide walks you through the one-time setup to connect your social media accounts.


Prerequisites

  • Active Hike Plus plan with AI Credits available.

  • A Meta Business Account (business.facebook.com).

  • Admin access to your Facebook Page and Instagram Business Account.


Activation

  1. Log in to your Hike POS dashboard.

  2. Navigate to AI Workflows.

  3. Locate the Automated Social Media Posting card.

  4. Click Activate and proceed with the setup.


A new window will slide out where you need to add the social media details.



One-Time Token Generation (Step-by-Step)

Follow these steps carefully to generate the tokens and IDs you'll need. This is a one-time process.

Step 1: Create or log in to your Meta Business Account at business.facebook.com.

Step 2: Go to developers.facebook.com  My Apps  Create App → choose Business as the app type → connect your Business account.

Step 3: In the App Dashboard:

  • Click Add Product and add Facebook Login.

  • For Instagram, add the Graph API product.

Step 4: Go to Business Settings  Users  System Users  Add a new System User with the Admin role.

Step 5: Click Add Assets and assign both your Facebook Page and your Instagram Business Account to this System User with Full control permissions.

Step 6: Click Generate New Token:

  • Select your Meta App.

  • Choose Never Expire.

  • Tick the following permissions: pages_manage_posts, pages_read_engagement, pages_show_list, pages_manage_metadata, instagram_basic, and instagram_content_publish.

  • Copy the generated System User Token (you will use this in the next steps).

Step 7 (Get Page ID & Page Access Token):
Open the Graph API Explorer and run this GET request:

(Replace SYSTEM_USER_TOKEN with the token you copied in Step 6).

  • The response will give you your Page ID (id) and Page Access Token (access_token). Save both.

Step 8 (Get Instagram Business Account ID):
Run this GET request in the Graph API Explorer:

(Replace {PAGE_ID} and {PAGE_ACCESS_TOKEN} with the values from Step 7).

  • Copy the id returned under instagram_business_account – this is your Instagram Account ID.


Where Each Value Goes in Hike

Once you have all the tokens and IDs, enter them into the corresponding fields in the Hike setup screen:

Instagram Access TokenSame value as the Facebook Access Token (Step 7).
Instagram Account IdThe id from Step 8 (Instagram Business Account ID).

Next Steps

After saving your tokens, the setup is complete! Hike will now use your AI credits to generate engaging content and automatically post your products to your connected Facebook Page and Instagram Business Account.
