I want to mark down some old stock over a variety of products and exclude customer groups that already get a discount. Eg. If product A sells for $10 - I want to sell it discounted for $5 but not allow certain customer groups to get a further discount - how do I do this?

Is creating a discount the best way to show that a product has been momentarily reduced so that the original price is still shown?
